Join us for a Green Woodworking Taster Day with experts Pat & Robert Moon. This one day course, covers the basic skills of 'bodging' and the techniques of cleaving, trimming, shaving & turning will be practised throughout the day.
Green woodwork means using unseasoned timber - it brings the craftsman into contact with the wood in its natural state. Green logs can easily be split along the grain and then turned to shape on the pole-lathe with little effort (once you know how!).

Green woodwork is environmentally friendly, it uses no endangered hardwoods; it uses no powered machinery and produces no pollution and is great fun. It is working with the wood rather than against it. Enjoy a day following in the footsteps of our ancestor craftsman and learn techniques which have been used for hundreds of years, on the pole-lathe and shave horse.
A fabulous day and you can proudly take home what you have made. If you are really taken with green woodworking, Pat & Robert will introduce you to The Association of Pole-Lathe Turners & Greenwood Craft Persons.
