"Let us spend one day as deliberately as nature, and not be thrown off the track by every nutshell and mosquito`s wing that falls on the rails"

Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)

Adults of all ages, lifestyles and levels of experience can enjoy whittling, this simple and relaxing form of green wood carving.  Folks who have never carved a piece of wood before, will discover a new source of simple fun and satisfaction.  Whittling in general is a very portable craft and once learned, you can take your new skill just about anywhere.  Twigs, branches and any scrap wood can be carved into functional utensils and many decorative items.

On your Green Wood Carving day, you will first learn about your tools, safety, sharpening and maintenance.  We will demonstrate different carving techniques of which you will develop yourselves throughout the day. We will aim to make a woodland knife; fork; spoon and small bowl for you to proudly take home.
