"Knowledge is invisible and weighs nothing. Be mindful that in times of crisis, if you can find shelter in the forest, rub sticks for fire and know which wild plants around you can be eaten, you will have a home, a hearth and a meal."

EarthCraftuk Woodland Crafts Courses are held in 300 acres of beautiful ancient woodland which is privately owned by the Dawes family of Mount Ephraim Farm & Gardens, near Canterbury in Kent.  Mount Ephraim gardens are cared for and loved by the family themselves, giving a personal charm so often lost in larger commercial gardens.  To enjoy the gardens fully, you need a full afternoon to spare as there is so much to see with The Mizmaze; The Rock Garden; The Water Garden; The Little Wood; The Aboretum; The Rose Gardens; The Topiary Garden and Herbaceous Border and with wonderful views of The Swale Estuary - Mount Ephraim Gardens are a beautiful place to visit. There is also a farm shop in the gardens, selling fruit and vegetables grown on Mount Ephraim Farm together with the most wonderful Woodrose Licensed Restaurant & Tea Garden.

Our courses are for pre arranged groups of up to 8 adult participants - please email us to check availability and discuss your event.

Your chosen course will be held in the woodland so please wear suitable warm clothing, according to the time of year and wear good walking boots. The terrain is not even, so sensible footwear is important. In our unpredicatable British weather, there are always going to be some days worse than others - only in the most severe conditions will we cancel a course, so please come prepared. As an expedition style camp, we do not have flushing toilets or running water. however we have tried to make things a little easier by erecting a `treebog` and a covered woodland shower. Please click here for the required and suggested course kit list

The kettle is always over the camp fire and complimentary hot drinks are provided. You can either bring packed lunches or have a quality lunch cooked over the open fire.

All tools used for each course will be loaned to you, so please DO NOT bring any of your own cutting tools - this is not awkward, it`s for everyone`s safety.

Unless specified, all our courses are open to over 18`s only. It goes without saying that alcohol or non prescribed drugs are not tolerated or permitted on any of our programme - so please do not bring them, thank you.

Whether you are looking for a unique day with family and friends, community group day out with a difference, or looking for a very special corporate event - we will tailor each course specifically to your own preferences.

Our charges are £550 per day for up to 8 adult participants.  If you would like a 2 course wholesome lunch "woodland style" for your group - there is a supplement of £12 per person.  Please talk to us and we can tailor a day to your specific needs along the following themes:

    • Bushcraft Taster Day
