This is an excellent opportunity to explore the ancient craft of the bowyer, fletcher and string maker. Our bow making course is suitable for any adult - you do not need to have had any previous experience.
You will be making a traditional style Longbow/flatbow using basic hand tools - draw knife, spoke shave and cabinet scraper.
You will learn how to split your own staves from the round, how to shape the wood, about tillering and finishing the bow, and learn how to make the string, to string your bow and of course arrow making and fletching.
To round off the course, as Scott is an experienced Archer and qualified Archery instructor, he will also introduce you to modern types of Archery equipment - the Compound, Mongolian and Recurve Bows. After a settling cup of tea, you are treated to a fun 'have a go' archery session (roaming).
